Hinsdale, Ill., March, 1, 2010 -- Judy Biggert, U.S. Representative House, Labor & Finance Committee, Illinois State Senator Christine Radogno and various human resource experts recently participated in a panel discussion: Employee Relations Management: Protecting the Bottom Line within our Changing Labor Climate to help small businesses better protect themselves against HR risk and common pitfalls. The event was open to the public and more than 75 area business owners attended.

The panel discussion, held at Ashton Place in Willowbrook, Ill., educated attendees on labor and employment law developments and provided knowledge and tools to protect their businesses. This event was sponsored by the Hinsdale Area Networking Group (HANG), The Business Ledger and the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce.

The panel discussion was moderated by Christopher Lyons, Labor and Employment Attorney at Peters & Lyons, LTD., and featured panelists including Biggert, Radogno, Donald Shewmake of the Pantheos Group and Giles Miller, Production Manager Phoenix Closures, Inc.

“The event was well attended and very well received,” Lyons said. “Our legislative panelists alerted the local business people in attendance to the latest developments in Washington and Springfield, and our human resources experts provided practical advice for dealing with their common employee relations problems.”
